Francesco Saita is a Full Professor in the Department of Finance at Bocconi University and currently serves as Dean for International Affairs (since November 2024). He has held leadership roles including Head of the Department of Finance (2007-2010), Dean of the Graduate School (2010-2014), and Director of the Baffi Carefin research centre (2015-2017). His research focuses on financial literacy, risk management in financial institutions, and derivatives.
He has been affiliated with multiple organizations, including the G53 Financial Literacy Network and editorial boards of Quaderni CONSOB. His professional experience includes a visiting scholar position at New York University's Stern School of Business in 1994. His work bridges academic research with policy, evidenced by contributions to pension fund education and high school financial literacy initiatives.
Key areas of research include experimental evaluations of financial education programs, risk measurement techniques for banks and asset managers, and regulatory frameworks for capital allocation. His publications span peer-reviewed journals and books addressing practical challenges in financial risk management and regulatory compliance.
He leads the Financial Education Research Unit at Baffi Carefin and advises institutions like Italy's national financial education committee (Edufin). His work emphasizes translating academic insights into actionable policies for improving financial decision-making.
