Francesco Parisi

Francesco Parisi is a Full Professor at the University of Bologna's Department of Sociology and Business Law, specializing in Public Economics. He holds appointments at the University of Minnesota Law School and has previously taught at George Mason University and the University of Milan. His academic credentials include a D.Jur. from the University of Rome 'La Sapienza,' an LL.M. and J.S.D. from UC Berkeley, and a Ph.D. in Economics from George Mason University.

His research focuses on law and economics, behavioral law, contract theory, competition economics, and public choice. Parisi has authored 10 books and over 250 scholarly papers. He serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Review of Law and Economics and holds editorial roles in journals such as Public Choice and the American Journal of Comparative Law.

Notably, he received the 2019 Lifetime Achievement Award from the European Association of Law and Economics and has been a Nobel Prize nominator since 2007. His teaching and administrative roles include directing law and economics programs and advising on institutional policy.
