Francesco Casarin

Prof. Francesco Casarin is a Full Professor of Economics and Business Management at the Department of Management, Ca' Foscari University of Venice (since 2006). He specializes in cultural marketing, tourism economics, and organizational learning in arts institutions. Affiliated with the Venice School of Management, his roles include directing the Management of Arts & Culture Laboratory (maclab) and the International Master's in Management of Cultural Heritage (MaBAC). He is a member of the Scientific Committee of AIMAC and the Research Institute for Digital and Cultural Heritage.

Education: Laurea in Economics (1988), extensive postgraduate training in research and pedagogy. His academic career includes positions at the University of Padua and visiting roles at ESCP Europe. He has coordinated numerous international research projects, including the Interreg Italia-Croatia 'Arca Adriatica' initiative.

Research focuses on cultural consumption patterns, museum performance metrics (using DEA/BSC models), and digital transformation in cultural heritage. Key interests include new realism marketing theory, arts marketing strategies, and the intersection of tourism and cultural products. He has published 10 books and over 100 articles.

Teaching responsibilities include courses on marketing, international marketing, and cultural heritage management at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has led programs such as the Tourism Economics Master and the EMAS international film management course.

Awards include the Best Paper Award at AIMAC 2017. Professional roles extend to advisory boards for organizations like the Veneto Film Commission and regional heritage clusters. He has advised on cultural policy, tourism promotion, and museum management across Europe.
