Francesca Fornari

Francesca Fornari is an Associate Professor at the Department of Life Quality Sciences, University of Bologna. Her research focuses on molecular mechanisms of tumor progression and drug resistance in hepatocellular carcinoma, particularly the role of microRNAs as therapeutic targets and biomarkers. She coordinates a AIRC Foundation-funded project on circulating biomarkers in liver cancer.

Education:

• Master's in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (2003), University of Bologna

Research Projects: Leads national/international projects including Region-University initiatives and FWO collaborations. Previously coordinated a project on microRNA-based biomarkers (2013).

Labs/Teams: Conducts research at Policlinico S. Orsola-Malpighi and collaborates with Ghent University. Serves on the editorial board of Liver Cancer.
