Fran Vidaković is a Lecturer at the Department of Geology, Faculty of Science, University of Zagreb, where he has been employed since 2024. He works within the Institute of Geology and Paleontology and is an active member of the Croatian Geological Society, contributing to both teaching and research activities in geological sciences.
He earned his graduate degree in Geology from the University of Zagreb in 2024, completing his thesis "Triassic marine reptiles from the vicinity of Krašić (Žumberak)" under the supervision of Associate Professor Aleksandra Mezga. Prior to his current position, he served as an educator at Brijuni National Park during his studies and worked as an expert associate for the Croatian Museum of Natural History's new permanent exhibition development.
Mr. Vidaković's research focuses on vertebrate and invertebrate paleontology, with specialized expertise in ammonite and conodont taxonomy and biostratigraphy. His work extensively examines Triassic sedimentary deposits across Croatia and neighboring regions, integrating stratigraphic analysis with sedimentological studies to reconstruct ancient marine environments and geological histories.
He is actively engaged with the Division of Geology and Paleontology, contributing to departmental research infrastructure and the Geological and Paleontological Collection, while participating in broader institutional projects such as BREEMECO, REEBAUX, SEDBAS, and GEOPROOFS.
