Fotios Papadimitrakopoulos is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Connecticut (Storrs Campus). His research focuses on nanomaterials and bio-systems, including the assembly of artificial nanostructures and their interactions with biological entities such as proteins, DNA, and lipid vesicles. He holds a B.S. from the University of Athens, Greece, a Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and completed postdoctoral research at AT&T Bell Laboratories (1992-1994).
Research interests span single-wall carbon nanotubes, semiconductor nanocrystals, DNA-assisted solid freeform fabrication, photonic crystals, and wireless glucose sensors. His work integrates materials science with biomedical applications, emphasizing interdisciplinary approaches to nanotechnology.
