Fortesa Rama

Fortesa Rama is a Doctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Chemical Ecology, affiliated with the Department of Insect Symbiosis. Her research focuses on unraveling complex biological interactions in plant pests, particularly multipartite symbiont and phytopathogenic associations.

Her work addresses critical questions in entomology and chemical ecology, including symbiotic relationships between insects and microorganisms, plant-pathogen dynamics, and evolutionary adaptations in leafhopper species.

Her PhD thesis, titled "Disentangling multipartite symbiont and phytopathogenic associations in a leafhopper plant pest" (2024), is supervised by Prof. Dr. Martin Kaltenpoth, Dr. Heiko Vogel, Matthew T. Agler, and Dr. Nina Fatouros.
