Florian Kranhold is a postdoctoral researcher at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), affiliated with the Institute of Algebra and Geometry within the Faculty of Mathematics. Previously, he pursued his doctoral and postdoctoral work at the University of Bonn under the guidance of Carl-Friedrich Bödigheimer, with support from the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics. His research focuses on algebraic and geometric topology, particularly configuration spaces, topological moduli spaces, and their connections to operads, factorisation homology, and cobordism categories.
- Education: PhD in Mathematics (2022, University of Bonn); MSc (2018, University of Bonn); BSc (2015, University of Tübingen).
- Research Trends: His publications demonstrate expertise in stable/unstable homology of moduli spaces, Ed-algebras, infinite loop space structures, and geometric interpretations of cobordism. Recent works (2022–2024) explore Segal K-theory, factorisation homology splittings, and parametrised moduli spaces.
- Teaching: He teaches advanced courses in algebraic topology, including topics like fundamental groups, cohomology, and manifold topology seminars at KIT since 2022.
- Collaborators: Co-authors include Andrea Bianchi, Jens Reinhold, and Felix Boes. His thesis work extends to graduate programs at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics.
