Prof. Florian Fusseis is a Professor in Applied Structural Geology at RWTH Aachen University, with a research focus on graph theory, combinatorics, and discrete mathematics. He holds a Ph.D. under Nicolas Trotignon, awarded an honorable mention (accessit) for the Prix Charles Delorme. His work includes studies on even-hole-free graphs, tree-width, and algorithmic graph theory, published in journals like *Journal of Combinatorial Theory* and *European Journal of Combinatorics*. He actively participates in international conferences such as CanaDAM and Journées Graphes et Algorithmes, delivering talks on graph decomposition and structural properties. Fusseis has also contributed to peer-review for journals like *Journal of Graph Theory* and is affiliated with the Indonesian Combinatorial Society.
Research interests span both structural geology and theoretical computer science, with notable work on layered wheels and treewidth bounds in graph classes. His academic journey includes internships supervised by Nicolas Bousquet and Aurelié Lagoutte, and collaborations with institutions like the University of Waterloo and Universitas Negeri Malang. Fusseis manages the Institute of Applied Structural Geology and maintains an active presence in academic networks, including LinkedIn, ResearchGate, and GitHub.
