معرفی
Dr. Florian Dietrich is a Researcher in the Environmental Sensing and Modeling Group at the Technical University of Munich (TUM). His research focuses on developing and deploying advanced sensor networks for monitoring greenhouse gases (GHGs) and air pollutants in urban environments. He leads projects such as the Munich Urban Carbon Column network (MUCCnet), which uses differential column measurements via FTIR spectroscopy to quantify urban GHG emissions. His work spans sensor automation, inverse modeling, and satellite validation, with applications in cities like Munich and Hamburg.
Key research areas include methane emissions from events (e.g., Oktoberfest), coal mines, and natural gas infrastructure. Dietrich collaborates on international initiatives like ICOS Cities and the COllaborative Carbon Column Observing Network (COCCON). He has pioneered software tools like Pyra for automated GHG measurement and contributed to understanding urban climate impacts of energy appliances.
Teaching roles include tutoring courses in Environmental Sensing, Atmospheric Modeling, and Electromagnetic Sensors. His work intersects environmental engineering, atmospheric science, and data-driven approaches to urban sustainability.
