Florian Berg is a Research Scientist at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Sloan School of Management where he co-founded the Aggregate Confusion Project. He collaborates with the MIT Climate & Sustainability Consortium (MCSC) on climate finance initiatives.

Dr. Berg's research focuses on sustainable investing with particular emphasis on ESG ratings, analyzing the disagreement between different rating agencies, and examining how these discrepancies affect investors, firms, and academic research. His work bridges the gap between financial markets and environmental sustainability, providing critical insights into how ESG metrics are interpreted and utilized across the investment landscape.
Before joining MIT, Berg held a visiting research position at ETH Zurich during his doctoral studies. His professional experience includes quantitative roles at major financial institutions, having worked as a quantitative researcher at Amundi Asset Management and as a quantitative strategist/trader at Alphadyne Asset Management. He has teaching experience at Paris-Dauphine University, Sciences-Po Paris, and MIT Sloan, bringing both academic rigor and practical market insights to his instruction.
