Florian Bassermann

Prof. Dr. Florian Bassermann is a Professor and Director of the Clinic and Polyclinic for Internal Medicine III (Hematology/Oncology) at TUM Rechts der Isar Hospital. He leads translational research in malignant diseases, focusing on ubiquitin-dependent signaling pathways and their roles in tumor-related processes.

Education:

• Studied Medicine at Ulm, Munich, and New York
• Doctorate from TUM (2002)
• Post-doctoral research at New York University (2006–2009)

Research Interests: His work investigates aberrant mechanisms in ubiquitin pathways affecting immune regulation, cell cycle, DNA damage response, metabolism, and apoptosis. Applications include developing therapies for hematological and solid tumors.
