Florence Gaiotti is a Lecturer in Literature at Université d'Artois and affiliated with INSPE Lille Nord de France. Since 2013, she co-directs the Distance Research Master's in Children's and Young Adult Literature at Université d'Artois, teaching courses on didactics, text/image relationships, editorial practices, and author studies.
- Specializes in children's literature, with focus on poetics of contemporary albums, eco/zoo-poetics, text/image dynamics, and educational applications
- Co-organized international conferences on Maurice Sendak (2013), documentary youth literature (2016), and animal representation (2022)
- Contributes to editorial boards of Nous Voulons Lire!, Cahiers Robinson, and Strenae
Her research examines picture book poetics, documentary youth literature, and educational applications of children's media. Recent publications (2020-2023) explore vegetal sensibilities, animal voice representation, and ephemeral elements in youth literature. She coordinates projects on CRILJ fund preservation and co-edits special journal issues on youth book topics.
Academic Leadership: Co-director of the Master's program since 2013, former French trainers coordinator at ESPE (2012-2016, 2021-2022), and active in organizing university seminars and professional training for librarians.
