Florence Cabaret is an Associate Professor of English at the University of Rouen Normandy, affiliated with the ERIAC (Équipe de Recherche Interdisciplinaire sur les Amériques et la Culture). She holds a Doctorate in English-Speaking Indian Literature, specializing in Salman Rushdie's works and postcolonial narratives. Her research focuses on English-speaking Indian literature, film adaptations of literary works, diasporic cinema, and representations of ethnicity in British and American TV series. She has co-edited multiple volumes, including *Brevity and the Short Form in Serial Television* (2024) and *Re-translation in Children's Literature* (2014), and published extensively on topics ranging from colonial history to contemporary TV series analysis.
Dr. Cabaret's academic contributions include over 20 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters, exploring themes such as postcolonial haunting in *Heart of Darkness*, diasporic viewpoints in Jhumpa Lahiri's *The Namesake*, and humor in Mulk Raj Anand's *Across the Black Waters*. She has also translated numerous works by Hanif Kureishi and other contemporary authors, emphasizing cross-cultural dialogue.
She actively participates in academic networks like GUEST (Gender, Ethics, and the University in Serial Television) and serves on editorial boards for journals such as *TV/Series*. Her teaching spans from undergraduate courses on Indian diasporic cinema to advanced seminars on adaptation studies. She has held significant administrative roles, including co-heading the English MEEF program and serving on university committees.
