Professor Flis Henwood is Emeritus Professor at the University of Brighton's School of Humanities and Social Science, with expertise in science and technology studies and medical sociology. Her research examines ICT applications in health/social care contexts including electronic patient records, internet health information seeking, and self-care technologies.
Major projects include the 5-year EU-funded EmERGE project developing mobile health apps for HIV patients and a Leverhulme-funded study on self-monitoring practices. She currently serves as Joint Chief Editor for Sociology of Health and Illness.
