معرفی
Flame Burgmann is the Manager of the Monash Centre for Electron Microscopy at Monash University. They hold a PhD in Physics (2007) and a Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours 1) in Physics (2003), both from RMIT University. Their research focuses on materials science, electron microscopy, and nanotechnology, with notable contributions to thin film characterization, nanostructured coatings, and biomaterial analysis. They have published in journals like Alcheringa and Soft Matter, addressing topics ranging from Cretaceous monotreme anatomy to lipid bilayer structures. Burgmann manages the Monash Centre for Electron Microscopy facility, a key resource for advanced imaging and materials research.
Education: PhD in Physics (RMIT University, 2007), Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours 1) in Physics (RMIT University, 2003).
Research interests include materials characterization using advanced microscopy techniques, thin film properties, and nanomaterial engineering. Their work bridges physics, biochemistry, and paleontology, evidenced by interdisciplinary collaborations in studies of fossilized vertebrate anatomy and synthetic biomaterials.
