Fischer Fabian

Fischer Fabian is a Professor at HES-SO Valais-Wallis's School of Chemistry and Life Sciences. He specializes in renewable energy systems, microbial electrochemistry, and wastewater treatment. His work focuses on bioelectrochemical technologies for hydrogen production, phosphate recovery, and sustainable chemical base generation. He leads research in microbial fuel cells (MFCs), microbial electrolysis cells (MECs), and photo-bioelectrochemical systems.

Key projects include scaling up MFCs for wastewater treatment and energy production, developing voltage reversal prevention systems for large MFC stacks, and refining sewage sludge to recover phosphorus and critical materials. His research integrates interdisciplinary approaches combining electrochemistry, microbiology, and engineering.
