معرفی
Dr. Fiona Speirits is a Lecturer in the School of Physics & Astronomy at the University of Glasgow, where she has been a member of the Quantum Theory Group since 2013. Initially joining as a Research Associate (after prior roles in the CNQO Group at the University of Strathclyde), she advanced to Research Fellow in 2015 and Lecturer in 2021. Her work spans theoretical quantum optics and gravitational wave data analysis, with teaching responsibilities in both Astronomy and Physics courses.
Research Interests: Speirits focuses on optical angular momentum, structured light, and topological phenomena in photonics. Her recent work on optical Skyrmions and multi-skyrmions explores topological characterization in light beams, while her contributions to quantum imaging and light velocity manipulation highlight her expertise in theoretical and applied optics. Publications in Science, Physical Review Letters, and Journal of Optics underscore her influence in these fields.
Academic Contributions: Her 15 most recent articles (2014–2024) reveal a trajectory from gravitational wave analysis to quantum optics and structured light. Collaborations with leading researchers like Stephen Barnett and Sonja Franke-Arnold are frequent, with a focus on topological materials, light-matter interactions, and quantum imaging techniques.
