Fiona McDermott is a Research Fellow at the CONNECT Centre in Trinity College Dublin, contributing to the EU Horizon 2020 Artsformation project and the Network Ecologies working group. Her work bridges internet technologies with environmental, spatial, and socio-cultural dimensions of urban development.

- Past Roles: Researcher at the University of Limerick; urban design and landscape architecture practice in Germany/Denmark/UK
Her research focuses on interdisciplinary studies of emerging internet technologies in urban contexts, including IoT applications in public infrastructure. She curated the Irish national pavilion at the 2021 Venice Architecture Biennale and has expertise in temporal politics of smart cities.
