Professor Finnur Larusson is a Professor of Pure Mathematics at the University of Adelaide, affiliated with the School of Computer and Mathematical Sciences within the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology. He holds a PhD from the University of Chicago and has held academic positions at institutions in the US and Canada before joining Adelaide in 2006. His research focuses on holomorphic geometry, with recent contributions to dynamics, contact geometry, geometric invariant theory, and minimal surfaces. He actively collaborates internationally and has organized multiple conferences and workshops since 2009. In 2016, he was a research fellow at the Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters in Oslo.
Professor Larusson teaches courses across all academic levels and supervises postgraduate students. He is eligible to supervise Masters and PhD candidates, emphasizing his commitment to mentorship.
