معرفی
Dr Finn Stokes is a Ramsay Fellow at the School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences within the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology at the University of Adelaide. He is a core member of the Budapest-Marseille-Wuppertal collaboration (BMWc), conducting world-leading simulations of Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) to study the strong nuclear force. His research focuses on resolving discrepancies in the muon magnetic moment calculations, which could indicate new physics beyond the Standard Model.
Stokes earned his PhD from the University of Adelaide in 2018 and worked at the Jülich Supercomputing Centre in Germany until recently returning to Adelaide via his Ramsay Fellowship. He developed the Parity Expanded Variational Analysis (PEVA) technique in 2015, advancing baryon excited state studies. Active in promoting equity/diversity, he serves on the International Lattice Diversity and Inclusion Committee.
His current projects aim to increase precision in muon magnetic moment calculations and explore QCD vacuum visualizations through lattice simulations. Eligible to supervise Masters/PhD students, he emphasizes collaborative, cutting-edge research in theoretical physics and computational methods.
