Filippo Zinetti serves as a Part-time Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics and Systems Analysis and concurrently holds a Teaching Assistant position in the Department of Applied Physics, demonstrating cross-disciplinary academic engagement.
His research spans two rigorously technical domains:
- Advanced Probability & Stochastic Structures: Focused on fractional Brownian motion, extreme value theory, and elliptical distributions through the Academy of Finland-funded FiRST Ilmonen Centre of Excellence, addressing foundational randomness in mathematical systems.
- Spin-Wave Computing Engineering: Developing reconfigurable computing architectures using yttrium-iron garnet resonators and spin-wave devices within the SPIN-WAVE project, targeting next-generation magnetic computing paradigms.
Current research initiatives drive his scholarly output:
- SPIN-WAVE Project (2024-2026): As core project member under PI Sebastiaan van Dijken, pioneering yttrium-based spin-wave circuitry for non-von Neumann computing.
- FiRST Ilmonen Centre of Excellence (2022-2024): Collaborating with Pekka Ilmonen on mathematical structures involving discretization techniques and integrand analysis in stochastic frameworks.
