Filippo Mazzoli

Filippo Mazzoli is an Assistant Professor in Mathematics at the University of California Riverside since August 2024. He previously held postdoctoral positions at the Max Planck Institute for Mathematics in the Sciences (2023-2024) and the University of Virginia (2020-2023). His research focuses on Geometric Topology and Differential Geometry, particularly (Higher) Teichmüller Theory, Anti-de Sitter geometry, hyperbolic geometry, and low-dimensional topology. He has organized sessions at major conferences, including the 2024 Fall Western Sectional Meeting at UC Riverside.

His academic journey includes a Ph.D. from the University of Luxembourg (2020), an M.Sc. from the University of Pisa (2016), and a B.Sc. from the University of Pisa (2014), all in Mathematics with summa cum laude distinctions. He has mentored students on topics like pseudo-Riemannian hyperbolic geometry and symplectic structures on Hitchin components.
