Professor Verde specializes in anthropological theory with research interests spanning epistemology and history of anthropology, comparative ethics, and art. His theoretical work engages deeply with hermeneutics, Amerindian perspectivism, and the philosophical foundations of anthropological knowledge. He has made significant contributions to understanding the ethics of Bororo society, the work of Lévi-Strauss, and Roberto Cardoso de Oliveira's hermeneutic anthropology.
His publication history reveals a consistent theoretical trajectory focused on epistemological questions in anthropology, with particular attention to comparative ethics across cultures and the intersection of anthropology with philosophy. Verde has produced influential work on Amerindian perspectivism, the philosophical underpinnings of anthropological methodology, and critical examinations of classical anthropological themes.
Professor Verde has held numerous academic leadership positions including Director of the Department of Anthropology (2022-2023), President of the Scientific Committee, and Director of the Master's Degree in Anthropology (2019-2021). He has supervised 11 doctoral students (7 in progress, 4 completed) and 13 Master's students, demonstrating his commitment to mentoring the next generation of anthropologists while maintaining an active research agenda in theoretical anthropology.
