معرفی
Filipe Alexandre Almeida Paz is a Principal Researcher in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Aveiro, Portugal. He leads a research group focused on Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs), lanthanide-based materials, and crystallographic techniques. His work integrates X-ray diffraction, NMR, and computational methods to develop functional materials for catalysis, luminescence, and sensing applications.
Education: B.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry (University of Aveiro, 2000), Ph.D. in Natural Sciences (University of Cambridge, 2004) under Prof. Jacek Klinowski. Postdoctoral research at the University of Aveiro since 2004.
Research Interests: Sustainable design of MOFs using rare-earth cations and polyphosphonate linkers; structural characterization of complex materials via synchrotron-based X-ray diffraction; development of multifunctional materials for environmental and biomedical applications. Current group includes 3 Ph.D. students and 5 postdocs.
Publications: Over 300 peer-reviewed articles (h-index 35), including high-impact journals like Chemical Communications and Journal of the American Chemical Society. Key projects funded by FCT Portugal and European synchrotron facilities.
Awards: Vicente de Seabra Medal (2015), Muir Wood Award (2004), Dow Portugal Award (2000).
Service Roles: Member of the Safety Commission in Chemistry, Scientific Council of the Doctoral School, and Editorial Board of Acta Crystallographica Section C.
