Filipa Lourenço

Filipa Lourenço is a Science Manager at the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies in Education and Development (CeiED) within the Faculty of Social Sciences, Education and Administration at Lusófona University of Lisbon. She holds a PhD from Universidade Aberta (awarded September 17, 2024) and a Bachelor's Degree in Education Sciences from Lusófona University (awarded June 30, 2010).

Her academic journey began at the National Conservatory of Music in Lisbon before transitioning to Educational Sciences and Intercultural Relations. She has developed scientific activities in national and European research projects and currently serves as co-coordinator of ReLeCo for Socioartistic Studies for Decoloniality and Sustainability.

Filipa's research focuses on decoloniality, subaltern knowledges, epistemologies, and artistic studies, approached through critical thinking for inclusion and broad human development. Her work explores interculturality, active citizenship, and artistic education as pathways to social transformation, with strong connections to Latin American contexts and epistemological diversity.

Her publications demonstrate consistent scholarly output from 2012-2020, with a clear thematic focus on intercultural education, decolonial theory, and community engagement in urban planning. Her research bridges theoretical frameworks with practical applications in education and social development.

She is actively involved in multiple significant research initiatives including serving as Principal Investigator for EURIDICE (EURopean Inclusive education for Digital society, social Innovation and global CitizEnship) and as a Researcher for EDU-LAB, HIGHRES, and previously completed C3PLACES projects. She also serves as a Management Committee Member for COST Action CA23117 since June 2024.
