Filip Wijkström is an Associate Professor at the Stockholm School of Economics and Director of the Stockholm Center for Civil Society Studies. With over two decades of research focused on civil society organizations, his work examines governance structures and strategic positioning of nonprofits, NGOs, and social enterprises across societal sectors.
His research interests include:
- Governance models in third-sector organizations
- Strategic development of social economy entities
- Cross-national comparative studies of civil society
Publications primarily analyze organizational behavior during crises, with recent work exploring resource mobilization patterns in emergency contexts and urban social movements challenging systemic inequalities.
Teaching spans undergraduate to PhD levels with expertise in civil society management, complemented by executive training programs internationally.
