Filip Buekens

Filip Buekens is a Professor at the Centre for Logic and Philosophy of Science within the Institute of Philosophy at KU Leuven. His research focuses on social ontology, institutional theory, and philosophy of language, with notable projects like 'Hunting Stags: On the Origins of Cooperation and Social Reality' (2023–2027) and 'The Hermeneutics of Obscure Pronouncements' (2016–2022). He has authored or co-authored over 100 publications, including landmark works on institutional facts, Foucault’s epistemology, and aesthetic judgment coordination. His teaching spans logic, analytic philosophy, and language criticism. Advising includes overseeing E.N. Bien’s doctoral research. Buekens actively participates in interdisciplinary debates, contributing to public discourse on political ethics and scientific integrity.
