Fidèle Mpiranya is an Instructional Professor of Swahili in the Department of Linguistics at the University of Chicago. He has been teaching at the institution since 2006. He holds a PhD in Linguistics from Université Lyon 3 (1996). His expertise includes Swahili language studies, African linguistics, and language pedagogy.
Dr. Mpiranya’s research interests focus on Swahili linguistic structures, linguistic typology, and second language acquisition methodologies. He has contributed to preserving and promoting African languages through his teaching and scholarly work.
