Fevronia Nousia serves as a Permanent Assistant Professor in the Department of Philology at the University of Patras, specializing in Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies since 2009. Her academic trajectory progressed from Contractual Lecturer to Lecturer before attaining her current permanent position.
Her educational foundation includes:
- Greek Philology (Classical and Medieval/Modern Greek specialization) from the University of Ioannina
- M.A. in Late Antiquity and Byzantine Studies at Royal Holloway, University of London
- Ph.D. in Byzantine Studies from Royal Holloway as a British Academy fellow
Her research centers on Byzantine Education, Literature, Hagiology, Reception/Dissemination of Greek Texts in the West, Critical Editions, and Greek Palaeography. She has established expertise in Byzantine textbooks, particularly during the Palaeologan era, and the transmission of Greek scholarship to Renaissance Europe through meticulous textual analysis and manuscript studies.
