Fernando Brandão

Fernando Brandão is the Bren Professor of Theoretical Physics at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech), where he explores the intersection of quantum physics, computer science, and mathematics. His office is located in 201 Annenberg, and he can be reached at fbrandao@caltech.edu.

• Focuses on quantum information theory and its applications to computation, communication, and physical systems.
• Investigates entanglement theory, quantum many-body systems, and thermodynamics from a resource theory perspective.
• Develops quantum algorithms for simulating thermal properties and equilibration timescales in quantum systems.
