Ferhat BOZKURT

Ferhat Bozkurt is an Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Atatürk University, Erzurum, Turkey. He earned his Ph.D. from Karadeniz Technical University (2018), M.Sc. from Atatürk University (2012), and B.Sc. in Computer Engineering from Dokuz Eylül University (2007). Previously, he worked as a software developer (2007–2010) and Research Assistant (2011–2018).

His research focuses on medical image processing, computer vision, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and data science. He has published extensively on AI applications in healthcare, including brain tumor classification, diabetic retinopathy segmentation, and clinical decision support systems, as well as non-healthcare topics like climate dynamics and Arabic language processing.

Recent publications highlight trends in deep learning, transfer learning, and hybrid AI models applied to medical imaging, sentiment analysis, fraud detection, and IoT systems. Notably, he explores feature selection, data augmentation, and domain-specific BERT models.
