Dr. Feng Yang is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Pathology and Immunology and Molecular & Cellular Biology at Baylor College of Medicine. He serves as a faculty member in the Cancer & Cell Biology and Development, Disease Models & Therapeutics Graduate Programs, and is a Faculty Senator at Baylor. He holds a PhD from the Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and completed postdoctoral training at Baylor College of Medicine. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms underlying therapy resistance in cancers, tumor microenvironment interactions, and developing transgenic models for prostate cancer.
Dr. Yang’s research is funded by the National Cancer Institute (NCI/NIH), Department of Defense (DOD) Prostate and Breast Cancer Research Programs, and the Cancer Prevention & Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT). His lab investigates MAPK4 biology, GATA2 degradation as a therapeutic target, tumor-specific gene delivery systems, and tumor-stroma interactions in prostate cancer progression.
- Education: PhD, Institute of Biophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Postdoctoral Training, Baylor College of Medicine
- Key Projects: MAPK4 signaling in cancers, therapy resistance mechanisms, and novel therapeutic strategies for prostate and breast cancers
His lab’s recent studies include identifying MAPK4’s role in promoting tumor progression and therapy resistance, and developing models for targeted gene manipulation in vivo. Dr. Yang has received multiple awards, including DOD Idea Development Awards and CPRIT Individual Investigator Research Awards.
