Feng Wang is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Iowa, affiliated with the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences. His research focuses on utilizing tree rings to investigate Earth's climate history and forest ecosystem dynamics.
Research Interests:
- Application of X-ray densitometry and computed tomography (CT) to tree-ring studies
- Climate variability and change through dendrochronological records
- Forest ecosystem responses to extreme precipitation events
- Quantitative wood anatomy and tree-ring modeling
He is currently working on an NSF-funded project analyzing tree responses to extreme precipitation across the contiguous United States. Prior to joining the University of Iowa, he conducted postdoctoral research at the National Institute of Scientific Research (INRS) in Quebec City, Canada.
