Feng-Qian Li

Feng-Qian Li, PhD is an Associate Professor of Research at the Department of Pharmacological Sciences, Stony Brook University. With a PhD from the Graduate University for Advanced Studies, Japan, and postdoctoral training in the Department of Medicine at the University of Washington, Li leads research on signaling regulators in cell growth and cancer biology.

• Research Focus: Investigates Chibby, a Wnt/β-catenin pathway antagonist, using Cre-LoxP gene knockout mice and in vitro models to study molecular mechanisms in ciliary formation, signal transduction, and disease modulation.
• Key Contributions: Discovered Chibby's role in basal body docking, intraflagellar transport regulation, β-catenin nuclear-cytoplasmic shuttling, and its implications in cancer and respiratory pathologies.

Publications span developmental biology, oncogenic signaling, and ciliary function, with recurring themes in Wnt pathway modulation, protein trafficking, and cell differentiation. Li's lab also developed monoclonal antibodies against Chibby protein.
