Felix FUCHS

Felix Fuchs is a Lecturer in English and part-time professor specializing in postcolonial and world literature at McGill University, Concordia University, and Dawson College. He holds a PhD in English from McGill (2021) and a Magister Artium in American Literature from Munich University (2013). His research focuses on peripheral aesthetics, critical realism, and the intersection of literature with globalization and historical materialism. He has published widely on South Asian anglophone literature, postcolonial theory, and contemporary realism.

Research interests span postcolonial studies, decolonial aesthetics, and the novel’s evolving role in global capitalism. He critiques neoliberalism’s impact on artistic production and advocates for marginalized voices in literature. Recent work includes a graduate seminar on Caribbean literature and surveys of critical social theory.

Awards include the 2022 Arts Insights Dissertation Award and Berlin Institute of Critical Theory Fellowship (2018–2020). He actively engages in Quebec education labor activism through the Fédération nationale des enseignantes et des enseignants du Québec, addressing issues like austerity and public sector strikes.

Teaching and advising: Courses on postcolonial literature, indigenous texts, and critical theory. Active in academic labor rights advocacy, linking pedagogy to social justice.
