Felipe Estrada Dörner is a Professor and Head of the Department of Criminology at Stockholm University. His research focuses on crime trends, criminal policy, social exclusion, juvenile delinquency, and longitudinal studies. He leads the Quantitative Criminology Research Group, established in 2022, which explores quantitative methods in criminology.
Key research projects include analyzing the societal impacts of punitive policies, the gender gap in crime, and the concentration of crime among marginalized groups. He has contributed to major publications on drug criminalization, police enforcement biases, and labor market effects of imprisonment. His work often combines register data and longitudinal studies to address complex criminological questions.
Current projects include studying social change and crime through multi-cohort analyses, evaluating social services as crime prevention tools, and exploring the intersection of inequality and crime trends. His interdisciplinary approach bridges sociology, policy analysis, and quantitative methodologies.
