Feiyan Wu

Feiyan Wu is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Department of Environmental and Resource Engineering, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), specializing in the Water Technology & Processes group. With a PhD completed in April 2024, Dr. Wu's work centers on innovative solutions for plastic pollution, including microplastics removal and chemical recycling of plastic waste through advanced catalytic processes.

Dr. Wu earned their PhD from DTU in 2024, with research focused on Synthesis and Immobilization of Defect-Enriched Photocatalyst for Plastic Upcycling, supervised by Professor Wei Zhang. Their expertise lies at the intersection of environmental engineering and materials science, with key areas including:

• Microplastics detection and remediation in water systems
• Development of photocatalytic and electrocatalytic materials for plastic waste conversion
• Heterojunction photocatalysts for membrane-based water treatment
• Polyvinyl chloride and acetic acid degradation pathways

Dr. Wu's recent publications (2024-2025) demonstrate a clear trend toward integrating high-entropy materials and defect-engineered catalysts for microplastic removal and plastic upcycling, with strong emphasis on peroxymonosulfate-assisted photocatalytic systems and electrocatalytic oxygen evolution. The work bridges material synthesis with practical environmental applications.

As a recent PhD graduate turned postdoc, Dr. Wu has not yet taken on formal advising roles. The foundational PhD research was conducted under DTU's institutional support within the Water Technology & Processes framework.

Based in DTU's Water Technology & Processes group, Dr. Wu collaborates on developing scalable catalytic solutions for plastic waste conversion, utilizing advanced membrane reactors and photocatalytic systems to address global water pollution challenges.
