Federica Guerini

Federica Guerini is a Professor in the Department of Letters, Philosophy, and Communication at the University of Bergamo since 2024. Her academic career began with a PhD in Linguistics from the University of Pavia in 2004, followed by recognition through the 9th International Prize for Studies on Plurilingualism in 2005.

Her research focuses on:

• Language contact dynamics among Ghanaian immigrants in Bergamo
• Linguistic landscapes as cultural indicators
• Orthographic choices and identity expression
• Interaction between Italian and Italo-Romance dialects
• Toponymic and anthroponymic analysis

Recent publications explore modal particles in Romance languages, dialectal word classes, and comparative syntactic structures across Italian regions. She has been actively involved in editing and publishing critical editions of historical dialectological works.
