Fazia Aitel is an Associate Professor in the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, affiliated with the City University of New York. Her academic work bridges French, North African, and postcolonial literary studies with a strong focus on immigration, gender, and cultural identity.

She holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from the Graduate School and University Center of the City University of New York.
