معرفی
Fayyaz Rehman is an Associate Professor in Engineering Design at Solent University, serving as the Science and Engineering Research Group Convenor. His work focuses on advancing additive manufacturing (AM) technologies, fluid dynamics, and sustainable engineering solutions. He leads research in applying AM to hydraulic systems, mechanical components, and materials science, with a strong emphasis on experimental validation and computational modeling.
Key research areas include the design and testing of AM-based structures (e.g., drum gates, weirs, and vanes) for open channel flow systems, stress analysis of polymers under dynamic loads, and the integration of CFD simulations with physical prototypes. He has pioneered studies on AM sustainability metrics and novel applications in marine and robotic systems.
Rehman has collaborated internationally on projects involving fluid dynamics, material characterization, and mechatronics. His research outputs span over two decades, with recent emphasis on AM’s role in improving infrastructure, propulsion systems, and sustainable manufacturing processes. He actively contributes to academic discourse through editorial roles and conference proceedings, promoting innovation in design and manufacturing education.
Notable projects include the development of an anemometer positioning system, laser-cut PMMA stress analysis, and variable-height watersports pylons. His work bridges theoretical models with practical applications, emphasizing real-world prototyping and interdisciplinary collaboration.
