Faye S. Taxman is University Professor at the Schar School of Policy and Government, George Mason University, where she also serves as Director of the Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence! (ACE!). Her work bridges criminal justice and health services, focusing on evidence-based reforms in correctional systems and community supervision. She leads major national initiatives and maintains active collaborations with state and local justice agencies across the U.S.
Her research interests lie at the intersection of criminology, health policy, and implementation science. She specializes in implementation-effectiveness studies, intervention science, and re-engineering probation and parole to align with best practices. Her work emphasizes fairness in risk assessment, motivational interviewing in justice settings, and data-driven policy reform. Dr. Taxman has authored over 220 articles and several influential books, including Implementing Evidence-Based Community Corrections and Addiction Treatment and Handbook on Moving Corrections and Sentencing Forward. Her leadership in grants and academic initiatives underscores her role as a national leader in criminal justice innovation.
She leads the Center for Advancing Correctional Excellence! (ACE!), a research hub dedicated to translating evidence into practice within correctional and community supervision settings.
