Faye Bennett is a Teaching Fellow in Anatomy at the School of Medicine, University of Leeds, where she contributes significantly to medical and anatomical education. She is affiliated with the Leeds Institute of Medical Education and serves as Co-Lead for Year 0 (Gateway) of the MBChB program, in addition to delivering anatomy teaching across multiple disciplines including Biomedical Sciences, Dentistry, and Physician Associate studies.
Her educational background includes a BSc in Animal Science from the University of Nottingham, an MSc in Human Anatomy from the University of Edinburgh, and a PhD in Medical Education from the University of Leeds, completed in 2023 while working full-time.
Faye's research focuses on the ethical dimensions of body donation, medical student attitudes toward body donors, and the development of professional identity within the hidden curriculum of anatomy education. She employs qualitative methodologies to explore how respect for the dead is perceived and manifested among students and professionals. Her work also investigates the impact of providing medical students with more detailed information about body donors.
She actively supervises undergraduate research projects and serves as an academic personal tutor for both undergraduate and postgraduate students, including those pursuing the Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Education. Faye welcomes PhD applications and collaborative research in her areas of expertise.
