Fayal Abderemane Ali serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine, University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), where he leads the Abderemane Lab.
His research investigates how poisonous animals resist their own neurotoxins, elucidates fundamental ion channel mechanisms, and develops novel pharmacological tools to modulate molecular machines governing brain activity, sensory perception, movement, and cardiac rhythms. This work directly targets channelopathies—a diverse family of ion channel-related diseases—with therapeutic applications in neuroscience and physiology.
