Fatma Avcu is a researcher at Akdeniz University's Faculty of Letters, Department of Ancient Greek Language and Literature. Holding a Ph.D. in Ancient Languages and Cultures, she specializes in classical philology, epigraphy, and ancient Anatolian studies. Her work focuses on Greek inscriptions, provincial administration, and cultural interactions in regions like Lykia, Phrygia, and Mysia.

Recent publications analyze epigraphic evidence for Roman transportation networks (2019), milestone inscriptions from Juliopolis (2015-2020), and funerary epigrams from Mysia (2018). She also contributes to edited volumes on Anatolian archaeology and cultural continuity in performing arts.
Active in academic collaborations, she participates in projects examining Lykia's administrative evolution and Stadiasmus Patarensis's boundary systems. She presented findings at international epigraphy conferences in Antalya (2022) and Istanbul (2018).
Current affiliations include peer-review roles in journals like Gephyra and contributions to multidisciplinary ancient studies collections. Her work supports understanding of Anatolia's complex cultural landscape through inscriptional evidence.
