Fatima Madugu is a Daphne Jackson Fellow and Post-doctoral Research Associate in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Manchester. Her work focuses on enhancing microalgae cultivation and biochemical production for applications in fuel, food, drug, and beauty industries. She employs experimental and computational modeling techniques, cultivating strains like Chlorella sorokiniana and Porphyridium purpureum in varying bioreactors. Her predictive models address microalgae growth kinetics and substrate dynamics.
She contributes to the BBSRC People and Talent Strategy Advisory Panel, advocating for early-career researchers. Her research aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in sustainable energy and environmental protection.
