Fatih Bedir is an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Sport Sciences, Atatürk University, Turkey. Since 2024, he has held this academic rank within the Department of Coaching Education. His expertise lies in recreation management, sports psychology, and general sports management, and he has published extensively in national and international peer-reviewed journals.

Research Focus: Dr. Bedir’s research spans recreation management, sports psychology, neuropsychological assessments in sport, leisure boredom, deviant leisure behaviors, and psychological resilience in athletes. He integrates cognitive neuroscience perspectives with sport and recreation contexts to understand athlete behavior, stress coping, and leisure preferences.
Publications & Trends: His recent work (2022–2025) increasingly explores the intersection of technology and psychological outcomes—for example, virtual-reality-based training, digital entertainment impacts on leisure, and COVID-19 effects on sport finance. A recurrent theme is the psychosocial determinants of athlete performance and well-being, evidenced by studies on empathy, team cohesion, aggression, and neuroticism.

Grants & Supervision: Dr. Bedir has been the principal investigator on multiple university- and TÜBİTAK-funded projects, including a 2023–2024 study on virtual-reality imagery training and a 2025 study on campus recreation stakeholder needs. He has supervised five theses and served on numerous doctoral juries.
Managerial & Service Roles: Since 2024, he has concurrently served as Institute Board Member, Assistant Coordinator of the Rectorate, and Assistant Director of the Institute of Winter Sports at Atatürk University, where he contributes to strategic planning and academic quality assurance.
