Fathima is a Visiting Assistant Professor in Political Science at Reed College. Her doctoral research examined central banking trajectories in the Global South, particularly when financial accumulation challenges development goals.
Current projects investigate:
- International monetary hierarchies and debt financialization
- State roles in de-risking late capitalist accumulation
- Climate finance politics
- Colonial legacy impacts on development
She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Indiana University Bloomington and previously managed civic education programs in the NGO sector.
