Fatawu Abdulai

Dr. Fatawu Abdulai is an Assistant Professor at the University of British Columbia's School of Nursing within the Faculty of Applied Science. His research focuses on health informatics, human-computer interaction, and health technology design, with a particular emphasis on digital health and sexual health equity. He is affiliated with the Designing for People (DFP) research cluster and the Women's Health Research Institute.

His work spans from developing educational websites for endometriosis patients to assessing digital literacy during COVID-19 and evaluating mobile health applications for STI prevention in Ghana.

Supervision & Collaboration: Dr. Abdulai is actively recruiting Master's students, Doctoral students, and Postdoctoral Fellows for start dates in 2025, 2026, and 2027. He strongly supports interdisciplinary research and public scholarship through initiatives like the Public Scholars Initiative. He welcomes collaborations with external partners and is particularly interested in supervising students interested in health informatics, digital health, and sexual health equity research.
