Farahnaz Fahimipour

Farahnaz Fahimipour serves as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry since 2022. She holds a PhD in Dental Materials from Tehran University of Medical Sciences (2020) and clinical certifications in Periodontology (UNC Chapel Hill, 2022).

Notably, she explores epigenetic mechanisms in periodontal disease progression and its systemic implications.

Recent publications demonstrate expertise in polymer science for injectable implants, microfluidic fabrication of growth factor delivery systems, and multi-scale materials characterization. Her work on periodontitis-renal disease interactions reveals persistent organ-level pathophysiological changes post-treatment.
